Self-Portrait @ 25

Self-Portrait Martika Lookalike by Lee Wilde
Self-Portrait Martika Lookalike by Lee Wilde, 1989

I’m pretty sure this was the first self-portrait I ever did. It was 1989 and Martika’s ‘Toy Soldiers’ was being played on the radio seemingly every 4 minutes. I went to the hairdresser to get my waist-length hair “trimmed” and walked out with a jaw-scraping asymmetrical bob. I did love it, though.

Unfortunately, not knowing any better, I laminated the drawing! :-/
